Avocado Deep Conditioner Take 2!

So I tried the avocado deep conditioner- I loved it!
I went 10 days trying not to fuss over my hair and I was waiting for my new hard water filter. The filter didn't come till the after my wash day but my hair seems to be cooperating. This wash I really wanted to focus on moisture.

  • Pre-pooed with Garnier Fructice Fight the Fall to battle shedding and sealed it with avocado/ grape seed oil.
  • Rinsed it out after a few hours
  • Applied my avocado mix. I had a hard time blending the avocado so I added water, honey and EVOO. After I was done battling with my blender I put the mix in a strainer and proceeded to strain.(the mix looked so much better than my first attempt.)
  • The mix went on easy. I applied it in small sections and twisted my hair when I was done.
  • I coated my hair with a clear rinse. It really does something wonderful to my hair.
  • Put my plastic cap on. Half hour with no heat and another half with heat.
  • Rinsed it out with a little help of Head and Shoulders 2 in 1 (very little, like a dime size for my whole head)
  • Aphogee Keratin Spray
  • T-shirt dried for an hourish
  • Applied leave-in and oil.
  • Put my hair in two French braids, pinned the ends and went to bed.
Avocado mix and Jazzing Clear Rinse

I wanted to leave the braids in for days but I couldn't resist a braid out the next evening. It was date night!

My filter is here. My old braid out is doing fine, not sure when I'll touch my hair yet. Still a little bummed about my hair.

My best friend and my french braids at the Tough Mudder.
Apart from watching another mud run (Tough Mudder), I did the scariest thing I've ever done in my life. Here's a video of what it looks like. I don't have a video of myself, plus I probably wouldn't post it because I made such a terrible face :)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  1. I can not believe that you went ripcording!! I wouldn't video myself either---it wouldn't be a pretty sight! Ha-ha!

I have a full bottle of Aphogee Green Tea Keratin Spray and Chi Keratin Mist in my stash. I just can't convince myself to use them anymore. I used to use them with every wash day and it lead to stiff tresses. I wonder if it would work better after a mini wash or co-wash....

    1. I can't believe I went ripcording! You I don't use the spray as much as I used to. I spray when I remember. I also feel like the tee shirt soaks it up as well.

  2. OMG! I would have died doing that! I am SO afraid of heights! You are a brave soul!

I'd stopped using my Aphogee Green Tea and Keratin for the same reason as KLP. I now very lightly spray a small amount when I'm planning to rollerset and sit under the hair drier.

Also I never thought of applying clear rinse over the DC. Did you find this effective? I still have a little bit of Jazzing clear rinse left. I may give it a try. Great idea!

    1. Hey Andrea!
Secretly I closed my eyes when they took me up and it took me two trips to the amusement park before I did it! Andrea I love Jazzing clear rinse over my deep conditioner. I'm thinking about incorporating the clear rinse more often, just a five minute rinse. I just love how my is when I use it. I was a little weary using it over the avocado but it really worked out.
